The latest addition to the sales team at multi-award winning broker is no stranger to awards and recognition. Sarah Courtenay, a real estate agent with over a decade of experience in Dubai’s high-end market and a strong reputation in the industry, joined the firm as a private client advisor. Starting her career at the age of just 18, Sarah managed prime home sales in the UK. After just three months on the job, she sold her first million pound house, setting a new sales record for her area. Her international experience also includes luxury home rentals in Spain and working with a private developer in London. Sarah first came to Dubai just over 11 years ago, working as a sales specialist in Downtown Dubai and the Business Bay. The first five months of 2022 have been phenomenal for the UAE market, due to a combination of factors including the completion of projects that were delayed by the onset of the global pandemic and increased demand from international buyers. With a record AED 61.9 billion (USD 16.9 billion) in transactions, the market continues to move at a breakneck pace despite concerns about inflation due to current world events. has had an excellent start to the year, capturing the highest market share in a key residential community (Jumeirah Islands) and closing 5 super prime transactions valued at over AED 70 million (USD 19 million) each during the second half of May.

Sarah has been pleasantly surprised by the direction of the market after Covid. “No one could have predicted that the city would be in such a strong position today, and I don’t think there is a better time to be in real estate. Prices are, although not at their peak, well above where they were before Covid, with the potential for further increases as we head into the second half of the year.”

Price is the key to a successful sale in Dubai at the moment: with higher interest rates and mortgages, prime real estate inquiries are expected to drop as mortgage buyers will find themselves out of that segment. The super prime segment of the market is expected to be largely unaffected and should end the year on a firm footing.
