Joao Felix is another player Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked with this summer. The 22-year-old is currently a player for Atlético de Madrid and played 23 games for the Spanish team last season.
Atlético finished third in La Liga in the 2021/22 campaign and Félix scored eight goals and recorded four assists, in his league characteristics. The striker also has Champions League experience, with 25 appearances in European competition, in his career so far and appears to be a canny signing for anyone.
The Spurs have already made a successful start to the summer window, making three signings within two weeks of opening day. And Felix already has a number of skills that would be beneficial for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham.

The moves of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma to N17 are beneficial for the Lilywhites, but improvements are still required in the attacking half, which is where the Portuguese international could come in.
Not only does Felix have creative qualities that would be a boost in Conte’s team, the 22-year-old has the key quality of versatility. Last season, the Madrid player played 16 games as a second striker, 15 as a center forward and a couple on the wing.
The striker is valued at up to £103.2m, according to CIES Football Observatory, so it would be a big deal for Tottenham to secure. However, if Felix can play multiple positions, this would mean the Italian will need fewer innings to fill other positions.
Spurs also have the benefit of ENIC’s £150m investment and any money they earn from tickets, so a large sum could be paid out. Felix has been praised by his current boss, Diego Simeone, and it will be exactly the comments Conte would want to hear.
“Joao Félix meets what the team needs,” Simeone admitted in March. “We have a way of working with the forwards. He is doing very well, he is happy, enthusiastic and it is very important on an individual level to later be able to move on to the collective, which is what matters”.
The 22-year-old has clearly shown signs of commitment and a willingness to improve, but he also has experience playing in various competitions, which is likely to be a boost for the Italian. And if the Atletico Madrid man does move to N17, he could follow in the footsteps of a certain Chelsea star who has come to the Premier League like a duck to water.
Felix has previously been compared to England international Mason Mount, with the former Arsenal youth product saying he brought his name up in conversation with the Atletico man. Felix admitted last year: “I like the way [Mount] plays, the way he likes to drag the ball, the way he touches the ball. I played with Chris Willock at Benfica three or four years ago and he told me that Chelsea have a boy who sees that he is similar to me and he told me that he was Mason Mount.
“A few years later he appeared at Chelsea and I like the way he plays. Chris had told me about him before he appeared in the Premier League so I was looking forward to seeing him.”
The 22-year-old who can play up front will help Tottenham find a backup for Harry Kane. It’s something Spurs have struggled with and it’s a problem for a lot of players, who don’t want to move to a club where they know they’ll be second choice.
However, if a player like Felix were to move to North London, he could replace the 28-year-old when needed, but he would fill other roles as well. In March, football.londonreported Arsenal’s interest in the Portuguese international, but there was no way the 22-year-old would leave Madrid then.
According to BarcaTimes, Felix’s agent has been in contact with several clubs and now it seems more likely that he will leave. Therefore, if Tottenham wanted to pursue a deal for the striker, he would have competition from rivals in north London and clubs around the world.
