The winner of the latest Omaze Million Pound House Giveaway will win the keys to an award-winning four-bedroom house, with unobstructed panoramic views of the Camel Estuary, just a mile away from the picturesque town of Rock, on the north coast of Cornwall.

Crowned Best New Build in Cornwall 2020, the luxurious 4,200 square foot home is set in over five acres of land and has been designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding Cornish countryside.

about the house

The house is located in a quiet and private location, in an area of great natural beauty. Outside there is a sunny south-facing terrace with unspoiled views of the estuary, as well as a hot tub and an interior patio with exposed brick walls and a large open fireplace.

The fully furnished property is a marvel of modern architecture: it has a stunning open-plan living room with a state-of-the-art kitchen and dining area, creating a serene space for family living and entertaining guests.

The master bedroom has its own luxury bathroom, while the other three well-appointed double bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms, so guests can freshen up after a long day at the beach.

The sustainable home is mortgage free and all stamp duty and legal fees are covered. The winner also receives £50,000 cash to help them settle in, and is free to live in the house, rent it or sell it.

If the winner decides to rent it out, local estate agents estimate the property could fetch up to £15,000 a month in holiday rentals during peak season.

raise money for charity

As well as making the grand prize winner a multi-millionaire, the draw will also support Blood Cancer UK, a charity dedicated to funding blood cancer research, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Blood Cancer UK is also committed to providing information and support for people with blood cancers, as well as improving rates of early diagnosis. Currently, a quarter of people with blood cancer are diagnosed as an emergency, as the symptoms can easily go unnoticed.

Money raised through the Cornwall House Draw will help Blood Cancer UK fund more research to help bring forward the day blood cancer is finally beaten and provide support and information to people affected by blood cancer.

The fundraising campaign with Omaze will give the charity a guaranteed minimum donation of £100,000 and has a fundraising target of at least £500,000.

The giveaway is backed by Olivier Award-winning actress and Blood Cancer UK supporter, Dame Penelope Wilton, who has been involved with the charity since appearing in the film Calendar Girls, alongside Dame Helen Mirren and Dame Julie Waters, in 2003.

The film tells the story of a group of women’s institute friends inspired to photograph their own Pirelli-style nude calendar to raise funds for Blood Cancer UK, after one of them, Angela Knowles, tragically lost her husband John for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in February 1998.

Dame Penelope Wilton said: “I worked on Calendar Girls almost 20 years ago; It told such a moving and inspiring story that I have been involved with Blood Cancer UK ever since.

“Your partnership with Omaze is brilliant – it raises money and awareness for such an important charity. His research is critical to beating blood cancer and everyone who enters the giveaway is helping to support this incredibly worthwhile cause.”

Gemma Peters, CEO of Blood Cancer UK, said: “We are very grateful to Omaze for choosing us as their partner for this house giveaway. Blood cancer is the third leading cause of cancer deaths in the UK, and the money raised by this association will help fund life-saving research that will bring forward the day when blood cancer is finally defeated.

“The association is also a great opportunity to raise awareness about blood cancer and its symptoms. Too many people with blood cancers are not diagnosed quickly enough, resulting in poorer outcomes, so by making sure more people know about the symptoms, we could save lives.”

How the draw works

Omaze’s James Oakes said: “We are honored to partner with Blood Cancer UK for this House Draw. By offering this dream property in Cornwall, we are not only giving people the chance to win an amazing home, but also raising money and introducing charities to new audiences.

“We’re incredibly proud that the Omaze community has already raised £4,750,000 for UK charities since we launched in 2020.”
